I woke up to a message from someone needing design help. I love a good challenge! So I put together this super amazing sketch....don`t judge my mad art skills 😜

This one is a tiny bathroom and they have an awkward wall that juts out, that they had to build around the existing foundation of the house.

My #1 rule with "weird" or awkward spaces is to make it look INTENTIONAL....make it look like you meant it! So instead of trying to hide it, highlight it!

Here, I would recommend:
-A dark or bold color. It`s a small space, so you need a big statement
-Highlight that "awkward" wall by doing a wainscot about 2/3 up the wall
-I`d do a fun color or wallpaper at the top to make this a feature wall
-I`d use the niche space for floating shelves for rolled up towels, toilet paper etc
-The small space between the shower and wall could be used for additional storage, or a plant would brighten up the space since it`s a room with no windows
-Adding a round element (like a mirror) is important to soften all the linear elements (everything so far is a square, rectangle, or straight lines)
-Remember your rule of 3 colors--here it would be Black, White, and Wood (or gold) ...

The Davis county one is right next to the landfill. They have paint, stain, fertilizers, automotive oil, pool chemicals, pesticides, and more. It’s all FREE

Additionally there’s a thrift shop next door. Today there’s a brand new basketball hoop, new full size bed ($25), a kids wagon ($8) etc. There’s a whole bunch of beautiful tile right now…. All for $5

Today I’m staining and sealing the wood handrail on the deck railing my husband and I just installed last week. What a beautiful day to do it…and I have the best little helper too! ...

Here’s a sneak peek—it’s definitely not done yet, but so fun to see it come to life from a rough little sketch I did in my notebook one day while making a to-do list on the house.

The toe kick isn’t installed yet, but you can see I did a scallop shape for that. I wanted it to feel like old furniture, so I did carved feet and a tiered vanity for dimension. I bought some old dresser mirrors off ksl and painted them to match. And of course, they needed a little bling with the crystal knobs and the sparkle quartz.

I can just see sister talks happening in here, and chatting about their dates as they get ready when they are older 🥰 ...
